Snowy Christmas Cheer ~ Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!

Snowy Christmas Cheer

Hi There!  I want to share another Sneak Peek with you from the new Holiday Catalog which will be available on August 28th!

Today’s card uses a brand new stamp set called Cheerful Christmas.  This is a wonderful stamp set that includes a very large sentiment which I used in today’s example.  This set also has a coordinating Embossing Folder.  We love coordination!!!

This card is A2 sized and uses Whisper White and Sahara Sand card stock.  I also used a lot of heat embossing on this card.  If you’ve never done this before it’s super easy and so MAGICAL.  It’s so much fun to see embossing powder bring your work of art to life!

For the background of this card I stamped the grove of trees from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set using my Versamark Pad and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I covered the bottom of the card in Versamark ink directly from the pad and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder to make snow on the ground.

For the snow flakes, I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and stamped randomly across the full card in Versamark in and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder once again!

Snowy Christmas Cheer 1

The Gorgeous Grunge “snow” gives this scene the perfect wintery touch!

Using the large sentiment from the brand new Cheerful Christmas stamp set, I stamped in Versamark Ink onto White Vellum Cardstock and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I added a touch of glitter using the Gold Glitz Dazzling Details!

Snowy Christmas Cheer 5

I used my Big Shot and cut out the sentiment using the large Apothecary Accents Framelits and attached it to the card using 2 brads!

Snowy Christmas Cheer 6

For the inside of the card I stamped the grove of trees and “snow” using Gorgeous Grunge in Versamark ink just as a watermark onto Sahara Sand card stock!

This makes a perfect interior for this card!

Snowy Christmas Cheer 9

This card was super simple to make and is a great non traditional colored Christmas Card!  I hope you love it as much as I do!

Until next time, Have a great day!!!

Grateful For All Things ~ Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!

Grateful For All Things

Today, I’m pleased to bring you a Sneak Peek at one of the stamp sets from the Holiday Catalog, which will be available August 28th!  This will be the first of many Sneak Peek posts throughout the month of August!  For Additional fun, I’m using the Paper Players Sketch #206 and the Stampin Up Only #102 challenges!

The Paper Players Badge

This is a Double Sneak Peek featuring a stamp set called For All Things as well as several pieces of a new Designer Series Paper set called Color Me Autumn.  The colors I used on this card are taken directly from the Color Me Autumn DSP and were used throughout the card (Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede).

This is an A2 card using Very Vanilla card stock for the base.  I sponged around the edges with Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake to give it an aged effect.

I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add background splatters in Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, and Crumb Cake.

Grateful For All Things 9

Now for the fun part!!!

The For All Things stamp set has the same great “Water Color” look that we have all come to love from the Happy Watercolor and Work of Art collections!  This set has fabulous leaves, acorns, and banners that are great for Fall, Thanksgiving, and even Masculine cards (we all know how hard those are to find!)

I stamped 4 leaves (2 Cajun Craze, 1 Crumb Cake, and 1 Soft Suede) onto Whisper White card stock and “fuzzy cut” them out.

Grateful For All Things 2

I cut 2 rectangles and 3 banners from the Color Me Autumn DSP set.  This paper collection is BEAUTIFUL!  It has the same watercolor look as the For All Things stamp set and uses such wonderfully autumn colors!  I highly recommend snatching up this paper as soon as the catalog is released!

Grateful For All Things 5

I stamped 2 water color banners, also from the For All Things set in Mossy Meadow and fuzzy cut!

The sentiment “Grateful For You” is one of 3 included in the For All Things set.  I couldn’t decide if I wanted this to be an Autumn, Thanksgiving, or Thank You card and this sentiment gives me the flexibility!

I used my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder to add the sentiment to the banners!

Grateful For All Things 4

I used my Bone Folder to curl the edges of each leaf and banner to give movement to this wonderful card!

The banners were attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals to give the card POP.

And to add PIZZAZZ, I colored a few rhinestones with my Old Olive Blendabilities and added them to the card!!!  That’s right, you can now have any color rhinestones or even pearls, you just color them with your Blendabilities markers.  It’s just that easy 🙂

Grateful For All Things 8

For the inside of the card, I added a matte in Sahara Sand card stock, with a few leaves stamped in Sahara Sand for just a little touch of autumn 🙂

I sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake for aging.

Grateful For All Things 6

The finished card turned out FABULOUS!!  This makes me want to start wearing boots and sweaters, Yay Fall!!!

Ok not yet, but the new stamp set and DSP will get you in the mood!

Grateful For All Things 7

I hope this card gets you as excited for the new Holiday Catalog as I am!  Stay tuned for more Sneak Peeks!

Have a great day!

Happy Age Awareness Day!

Happy Age Awareness

Today I want to show you 4 cards that were made in less than an hour (including all the cutting!).  We all have busy lives and it’s nice to know that there are quick and easy cards out there to be made!

I fell in love with the modern and witty sentiments in the new Age Awareness stamp set!  Things like “Hey I remembered your birthday, Thanks Facebook” and “Happy Cake Day, Oh and Happy Birthday too”.  These are great for young and old alike as well as masculine and feminine cards.  This is such a versatile set, I definitely recommend having this in your collection.  It’s nice to have sentiments that are outside of the norm.

Age Awareness Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Ok, so on to the quick and easy cards!  All 4 cards are A2 size and use a Whisper White card base.  To keep the cards simple and to make several cards very quick, I used 4 colors: Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight.

Card 1 Recipe:

Age_Awareness 1

Old Olive card stock was used for the matte.  I stamped the balloon in Daffodil Delight, Sentiment in Night of Navy, and repeated the candles across the bottom in Rich Razzleberry.  Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine was added for POP.

The sentiment inside reads: “Oh, and Happy Birthday too!”

Card 2 Recipe:

Age_Awareness 2

This card is VERY simple using only 2 colors!  Night of Navy card stock was used for the matte.  “Happy” is stamped in Old Olive, and “Age Awareness Day” is stamped in Night of Navy.

The sentiment inside reads: “You look way better at this age than I thought you would”

Isn’t this a great masculine card?!

Card 3 Recipe:

Age_Awareness 3

Here is another easy using only 2 colors!  Rich Razzleberry card stock was used for the matte.  “Happy Birthday” is stamped in Rich Razzleberry, and the swirls are stamped in Daffodil Delight.

The sentiment inside reads: “Any excuse to eat cake, right?”

Card 4 Recipe:

Age_Awareness 4

This last card is simple to make but has so much PIZZAZZ!  I used Daffodil Delight as the matte. “Hey I remembered your” is stamped in Old Olive, and “Birthday” was colored using Night of Navy, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers.

Using the Star from my Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, I punched out stars across the top of the card (through both layers so you can see through the card).  I also punched out multiple stars from the Old Olive, Night of Navy, and Daffodil Delight card stock and glued them randomly to the bottom of the card.

The sentiment inside reads: “Thanks, Facebook.”

Aren’t all of these cards FABULOUS!!!  I loved making these quick and easy cards to share with you.  I hope this inspires you to create multiple cards using one stamp set!

Until next time, have a great day!

Holiday Catalog 2014

Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog 2014

Hello Bloggers!  Sorry it’s been so long since my last post.  I attended the Stampin’ Up! Inspire Create Share 2014 Convention in Salt Lake and it was FABULOUS!  I had so much fun, and I have so much to share with all of you!

During the convention they unveiled the Holiday Catalog for those in attendance.  The catalog will be released to you on August 28th!

Stay tuned throughout the next month for some exciting previews!

Lost Lagoon Birthday Greetings

Lost Lagoon Birthday 2 ~Hello!  Today I wanted to share a card with that uses a retired stamp set called Simply Sketched.  I normally wouldn’t put a retired set on my blog, but this card came out so lovely I had to share it! For the main scene, I sponged the background onto Whisper White card stock using Pool Party and Island Indigo.  I stamped the branches across the top and the bird in the water. Using my Stampin’ Write markers, I colored the image using the following:

  • Leaves and Grass – Pistachio Pudding and Old Olive
  • Berries – Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush
  • Bird – Daffodil Delight and Hello Honey
  • Water Lines were drawn at the base of the grass using Hello Honey

I added highlights to the leaves, grass, water lines and bird using a white gel pen!  Amazing how a little touch of white can make an image so realistic! Lost Lagoon Birthday 6 I cut out the scene using the Apothecary Accents Framelits and added detail with the coordinating shape in the Essentials Paper Piercing pack. The double matte behind the scene was also cut using the Apothecary Accents Framelits with Old Olive and Pool Party card stock. Lost Lagoon Birthday 3 The tag was made using the same technique.  The sentiment was stamped using Lost Lagoon and the Birthday Greetings stamp from the Wetlands stamp set!  The sentiment and the matte were cut using the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  For the matte, I used Always Artichoke card stock. Lost Lagoon Birthday 5 The base of the card is 5.5″ x 4.25″ in Lost Lagoon card stock.  To add some depth and background, I used the branch stamp from the Simply Sketched set and stamped in Lost Lagoon ink across the top.  For the bottom, I wanted to add some grass, but no bird.  I did this using the grass from the Wetlands stamp set and colored just the blades with my Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write marker. Lost Lagoon Birthday 1 As you can see, I didn’t get the tips that way the stamped image will match the grass that the bird is sitting on in the scene.  This was stamped along the bottom of the card and was the perfect effect for the background! Added some Old Olive Striped Organdy ribbon and bow to jazz things up before attaching the scene and tag! Lost Lagoon Birthday 8 And of course, the card wouldn’t be complete without a matte on the inside!  The matte is Pool Party card stock, stamped with Pool Party ink.  When you use this technique (same color ink as paper) it gives the effect of a watermark!  This is such a simple way to add pizzazz to any project!! Lost Lagoon Birthday 7 I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post and it inspires you to continue using those old stamp sets!  Have a great day!
