Happy New Home

Happy New Home

Hi Stampers!  Today I have a fabulous card for you that uses a wonderful bundle from the 2014 Holiday Catalog!  This card was made for a couple that just moved into their new home.  As you can see, this is not a holiday card, but the Holiday Home set was perfect for this occasion!

The Holiday Home stamp set is currently offered in the Holiday Catalog with a promotion to bundle it with the Holiday Home Framelits.  I just love bundles!  Why cut things out by hand when your Big Shot can do the work for you?!?!?

The Holiday Home stamp set is Photopolymer which allows for you to add all the little details, exactly where you want, and this set has all those great details included!

Back to the card 🙂  This card is a standard A6 (6 1/2″ x 4 3/4″), but is scored slightly off center to allow a 1″ gap on the side for the sentiment.  I rounded the corners of the front of the card to give it a softer look.  I used Night of Navy card stock for the base.

For the first matte, I used Whisper White card stock and attached blue and green pieces of scrap paper and also rounded the corners .  I attached the ribbon (also scrap I had laying around) to this matte and added a large bow.

Happy New Home

The smaller matte uses another piece of Night of Navy card stock.  On Whisper White paper, I sponged clouds using Soft Sky and Tempting Turquoise inks.  I used another piece of green scrap paper for the “grass”.

Next, I stamped the house from the Holiday Home stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The house is colored using Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities.  Then I got out the Big Shot and matching Framelit to cut out the house!  The house was attached to the matte using Tombow glue.

Happy New Home

The lantern from the Holiday Home stamp set was stamped next to the house in Basic Black ink.

For the finishing touches, a cloud was created using the Cupcake Builder punch.  I also punched out a heart from Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The “Happy New Home” sentiment is from the Holiday Home stamp set.

Happy New Home

Using my Sassy Salutations stamp set, I added Congratulations to the inside matte of the card in Night of Navy ink.  The off set fold is fabulous for this inside/outside stamped sentiment!

Happy New Home

The Holiday Home stamps and Framelits are a great set to have in your collection, and you can save %14 when you buy them as a bundle!

Don’t forget, you have 2 days to get the Big Shot promotion if you haven’t already!

Happy New Home

I hope you enjoyed this card!  Thanks for stopping by, ~Bridget

Lucky Birthday Stars ~ Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!

Lucky Birthday Stars

~Hello!  Today is super exciting.  I am going to be sharing 2 items from the new Holiday Catalog!  I am also playing with the Paper Players #209 Challenge!

This card uses a lot of fun colors which are great for any birthday.  I started with an A2 (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) card base in Tempting Turquoise.

Using a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the sentiment using the Four You stamp set in Melon Mambo.  This is such a fabulous fun color!!

Lucky Birthday Stars

Next, I got out my trusty Big Shot!!!

Take your white card stock and run it through the Big Shot with the 3 smallest stars from the Stars Framelits collection.  I arranged my stars randomly across the paper making sure I didn’t cut into my sentiment!

Now for the Sneak Peek!!!!  In the Holiday Catalog there is a new Embossing Folder called Lucky Stars.  This immediately grabbed my attention because of it’s versatile use. Christmas, New Years, Birthday’s, Congratulations, Graduations…… the list goes on and on!!!

Run your white card stock through the Big Shot once again using the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder!

Don’t forget about the AMAZING deal that Stampin’ Up! is having on Big Shots this month.  Buy a Big Shot, get a Free Bundle!  Click Here if you want more details!

Lucky Birthday Stars

To add some PIZZAZZ to this card, I used a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper!!!  I liked the colored stripes the best for this card.

The DSP was glued directly to the card base.  Next I attached the Whisper White card stock with dimensionals to add some POP!  I added a simple bow with Melom Mambo Cotton Ribbon to finish off the front of this card!

So now you’re all wondering where that second Holiday Sneak Peek is?!?!  As you may know, I love to add mattes to the inside of my cards.  So here it is…..

Lucky Birthday Stars

There is a Fabulous new border punch called Confetti Stars which I Love, Love, Love!!!  I punched across the bottom of a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock and used my Tombow glue to attach it to the inside of the card!

This card just has such a fun look to it with all of wonderful the stars!

Lucky Birthday Stars

The Holiday Catalog comes out August 28th!  Remember, you don’t have to use everything in a holiday catalog just for holidays!  I hope today’s card has inspired you to think about what else you can use your new “holiday” products for!

Halloween Moon – Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!

Halloween Moon 1

~Hello Stampers!  Today I am going to share with you a Halloween card and give you a couple of Sneak Peeks!!!

I am going to be without an internet connection for about a week so I won’t be able to post, but I’ll have lots to share with you when I’m back online!

Today’s card is a single layer card.  Sometimes single layer cards can feel so bare without all those layers of paper, but every once in a while it’s just right for the occasion!  This card is very simple and basic and I like the monochromatic look for Halloween.  It really features the moon which is exactly what I wanted!

I started with a grove a trees from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set and heat embossed the grove using Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

The Bats are a Sneak Peek at 2 more little stamps from the Holiday Invitation stamp set (I used the holly berries in the Winter Seasons Greetings card that I posted yesterday)!  The bats were also heat embossed with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder!

You may notice a few “Stars” also in the sky, this too is a stamp from the Holiday Invitation stamp set!  The stars were heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss powder.

Halloween Moon 2

After I was done with all of that heat embossing, I cut out a large circle from a piece of paper using my Big Shot and Circle Framelits!  This allowed me to mask the card leaving just a circle showing.

By heat embossing the Trees and Bats first, I am able to use the Emboss Resist technique for the rest of the card!  The moon was sponged using So Saffron and Hello Honey for a rich golden tone!  This looks just like those beautiful Harvest Moons we get in October!!

Halloween Moon 4

The rest of the card was sponged using Smoky Slate (On Sale this week as part of the Weekly Deals), Basic Gray and Basic Black starting with the lightest color closest to the moon and getting darker toward the left edge.  The ground was sponged with Smoky Slate and a little bit of So Saffron for the moon reflection!

Halloween Moon 5

I added some Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon along the bottom with a simple bow.  The sentiment is stamped using a brand new Hostess Stamp Set called Good Greetings!!!  This set has 19 FABULOUS greetings for all holidays and uses the same text we love from the Endless Birthday Wishes and Endless Wishes stamp sets!

(By the way, if you missed out on the Endless Wishes stamp set……..It is in the Holiday Catalog this year!!!!)

Halloween Moon 3

That’s It!  A very Quick and Easy single layer card for Halloween!  The embossed trees and bats make this card feel like it’s more than one layer and add such nice shine to the card to compliment the large moon!

Halloween Moon 6

I hope you enjoyed several of the sneak peeks in today’s post.  I look forward to being back online and sharing more projects with you!  How did we use to live without the internet?  I’m so grateful for my craft room!!

Until next time, have a great day!

Winter Seasons Greetings

Winter Seasons Greetings

~Hello!  Today’s I’ve created another winter card that is great for the holiday’s and kept with the same non-traditional Christmas colors!

In my last post I showed you the Emboss Resist technique and I have used it again with this card.  I stamped the trees using the oldie but goodie, Lovely as a Tree stamp set in Pear Pizzazz.  I also stamped on top of each tree with Versamark in and Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder which gives the look of snowy trees after color is added.

I also used Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder with Gorgeous Grunge to add snow!

Winter Seasons Greetings 1

I sponged the sky as well as the snow using Soft Sky and Pool Party.  This gives the card a nice calm snowy scene!  You can see how the trees look like they’re covered in snow 🙂  I love using the Emboss Resist technique!

Winter Seasons Greetings 2

I created a simple tag for this card using the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The sentiment is from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and I stamped it in Pear Pizzazz ink.

The holly berries are a Mini Sneak Peek from the Holiday Catalog!!!! They are from a stamp set called Holiday Invitation and added the perfect accent to this tag!  I used Clear Stampin’ Emboss powder and the Emboss Resist technique on the tag.  The leaves and berries were colored using Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities!!

Winter Seasons Greetings 7

I added a strip of Old Olive Striped Organdy Ribbon to the bottom with a simple bow to finish the card off!!

Winter Seasons Greetings 6

I love the serene look of this winter card!  The new holiday catalog is exciting, but don’t neglect your old stamps!!!

Until next time, have a great day!

Beautiful Bundle of Stars

Bright and Beautiful Greetings

Today’s card features the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and Stars Framelits, also known as one of the Big Shot August Bundles the “Bundle of Stars”!!!!

I mentioned in my post about the Big Shot promotion that the Bundle of Stars is a special release from the Holiday Catalog, however if you miss out on the promotion in August it is not offered as a bundle in the catalog, so you will want to Get it Now!!!!

So onto today’s card!  I wanted to make a Christmas card using non traditional Christmas colors.  I used Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, and Pear Pizzazz to make this card.  It gives it an overall “wintery” feel, which I LOVE!

For the background of the card I used Whisper White card stock and the new Stars Decorative Mask with my Versamark ink pad.  I heat embossed the stars in Clear Stampin’ Emboss powder.  Why Clear you ask, you’ll see shortly!!!

Bright and Beautiful Greetings 1

The next step is super cool!  This is an Emboss Resist technique.  Using Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon ink, I sponged color over the entire front of the card.  As you do this, you will see that the embossed stars, don’t pick up any color.  Isn’t that AWESOME!  I love when things are this easy. 🙂

Bright and Beautiful Greetings 2

Now it’s time for the “Star” of the show, hehe!

I stamped all 3 stars from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set onto Whisper White card stock.  The largest and smallest stars are stamped in Pear Pizzaz.

The middle star was stamped with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss powder that had a little bit of Silver Stampin’ Glitter mixed in.  When the emobssing powder melts, the glitter is trapped and doesn’t flake off the card!!

Each star was then cut with it’s matching Star Framelit using my Big Shot!  Voila, 3 Perfectly cut stars!  I sponged the edges of the large and small star with Lost Lagoon ink and sponged the entire middle star with Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon ink (used the emboss resist technique again)!!

Bright and Beautiful Greetings 3

As you can see the stars are not flat.  I scored down each point of the stars and used a “Mountain Fold” to give them dimension.  Then I lined them up and glued them on top of each other!

Bright and Beautiful Greetings 6

I added the dimensional star to the card using Tombo ink.  This was a little tricky, but the star just needed to be flattened a little!

Bright and Beautiful Greetings 9

Now the tag!  The large, wonderful sentiment is all one stamp in the new Bright and Beautiful stamp set.  This sentiment is great for the outside or even the inside of any card.  I chose to use it for the outside!

The sentiment was stamped using Pear Pizzazz ink to tie everything together and then cut using the Apothecary Accents Framelits and once again….My Big Shot!!! (Yes, this is a tool that gets used ALL THE TIME and is WORTH IT)!!!

Bright and Beautiful Greetings 7

I used Versamark ink and the stars from my June 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit to stamp around the edges and heat embossed using Clear Stampin Emboss powder!  That’s right, you guessed it……Emboss Resist technique!  I used Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon and sponged over the entire tag.

I attached the tag with Stampin Dimensionals so it wouldn’t look flat next to that 3-D star!

Bright and Beautiful Greetings 5

That’s it!  Such a fun card to make, and I love sharing new techniques with you!
