Beautifully Simple Christmas Card

Stampin' Up! Snowy Christmas Card uses Mingle All The Way and Endless Wishes Stamp Sets from the 2014 Holiday Catalog.

Hi Everyone.  Today I’m going to share with you a quick and easy Christmas card.  We all love to save time especially around the holidays!  This card takes no time at all, but is so stunning!

Here are the paper sizes you will need:

  • Card Base – 5 ½” x 4 ¼” in Cherry Cobbler
  • Matte 1 – 5 3/8” x 4 1/8” in Soft Sky
  • Matte 2 – 5 ¼” x 4” in Whisper White
  • Small Matte 1 – 2 ¾” x 3 ¾” in Soft Sky
  • Small Matte 2 – 2 5/8” x 3 5/8” in Cherry Cobbler
  • Small Matte 3 – 2 ½” x 3 ½” in Whisper White

I dry embossed the large piece Whisper White card stock using the Northern Flurry Embossing folder.  It’s hard to tell in the picture, but I also spritzed this sheet with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch to add a little sparkle!

Using Soft Sky Ink, I stamped the small piece of Whisper White card stock with sever snowflakes from the Endless Wishes stamp set.

I wanted to add a little more sparkle here so I mixed some Cherry Cobbler Stampin Emboss Powder with red glitter (you can get this from any craft store). Using this mixture, I heat embossed the Mingle All the Way sentiment from the Mingle All The Way stamp set!

Next, I attached the 3 small pieces of card stock and tied a 13″ piece of Cherry Cobbler bakers twine around all 3 pieces.

Add a few rhinestones and voila!

I wanted to make sure my dry embossed snowflakes had enough POP, so I added 2 rhinestones which were colored using my darkest Cherry Cobbler Blendabilites marker.

And what is a Christmas Card without a sentiment on the inside???? 🙂

I added a piece of Whisper White card stock that I stamped with snowflakes in Soft Sky and added the “Celebrate the Season” sentiment in Cherry Cobbler using the Endless Wishes stamp set!

A few more snowflakes were added to the flap of the envelope to finish things off!!

That’s it!  A great simple card that anyone would love, and the Mingle All The Way sentiment is so fun.  This could be for any winter holiday, not just Christmas, and maybe even a winter birthday!

A Spin on Paper Pumpkin – October Card 3

October_PP_Card 3-1

Hi Stampers!  Today I’m excited to share with you the third card I created using my October 2014 Paper Pumpkin kit.  The Teepee Card, the Pie Card, and today’s card were all created using a single Paper Pumpkin pie box.  There is plenty of product in you kit to make any of these cards in bulk!!!

This card is Quick and Easy! We all love easy cards especially around the holidays, right?!?!

So let’s get started!  The main focal point of this card is the colorful background.  I created this using a piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ Watercolor paper.  You can pick up watercolor paper from any local craft store.

I sponged Hello Honey, Old Olive, and Cajun Craze, which just scream autumn, onto the inside of my Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  Make sure you sponge the side that has the logo.  Then I sprayed the inked area with Rubbing Alcohol, this will blend the colors and create a distressed/wet look.  You can use water in place of Rubbing Alcohol, but the alcohol will dry quicker.  This step is why I used watercolor paper.  The paper will absorb the alcohol/water better than basic card stock.

Then just place your paper in the embossing folder and run through the Big Shot!

For the tag, I used a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and punched each end with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Then I used the sheet that the pre-cut feathers came on from the Paper Pumpkin kit as a mask.  I sponged 3 feathers onto the tag in Hello Honey, Old Olive, and Cajun Craze.

I stamped the sentiment “Thankful For You” onto the tag using Mossy Meadow.

I didn’t have much use for the pink feathers that came in the kit, so I sponged over them with Cajun Craze to make a “red” feather.

For the card, I cut a large feather using the Feathers framelits from a polka dotted pie box.  I also used the Hexagon punch to add an accent to the feathers on the front of the card.

I used 3 strands of the yellow yarn from the Paper Pumpkin kit and ran them behind the sentiment tag.  I also created a bow using the same yarn and attached it to the front of the card as well as added a banner, using the orange striped sticker from the kit.

Everything was then attached to a Mossy Meadow 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card stock base.  That’s it, you have a super simple card that can easily be recreated in plenty of time for Thanksgiving!

Over the weekend I held my monthly Paper Pumpkin Party and my gals had so much fun creating the 3 Spin on Paper Pumpkin cards I have shared with you.

I hope you have fun with your October Paper Pumpkin kit!  I’ve seen the kit for November and it’s Super Cute!!  I can’t wait to receive that little red box at the end of the month!
