Pop of Pink Series – Card 1

Hello Stampers!

This is card 1 of a 4 part series using the new Pop of Pink Collection from Stampin’ Up!

This card uses a standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base in Melon Mambo which has been stamped from top to bottom (also in Melon Mambo) using the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.  The Melon Mambo Ink is slightly darker than the paper while still blending in which gives it a watermarked look.  Great for backgrounds!

I used a strip of Basic Black cardstock cut to 5 1/2 x 2 and covered it with the black and gold Pop of Pink Washi Tape.  This was aligned with the background sentiments.

The 3 Balloons were also created using white cardstock covered in Washi Tape then punched out with the Balloon Boquet punch.  Gold Thread was used for the balloon strings.

The sentiment is attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give the card a little pop!  Once again using the same Happy Birthday sentiment as the background, this time in black.

This is a perfect card that is simple to create over and over again.  It can also be made in different colors, perfect for feminine as well as masculine cards!

Thanks for Stopping By!

Ballerina Birthday

House Mouse Ballerina Birthday

Hi Stampers!

Today I’m playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Furry Friends.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

I’ve made a super adorable and totally girly birthday card for my fabulous niece!  She loves everything pink, sparkly and LOVES ballerina’s so the Ballerina Baby stamp from House Mouse was the obvious choice!

The mouse was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black in and colored with Copic Markers: Body – E00, E40, E43, and E44,  Tutu – RV11 and RV34.  I used a versamark Embossing Pen and colored over the skirt so I could emboss with clear glitter.

The mouse image was cut out using Stampin’ Up! Deco Lables framelits in the smallest size.  Then using the medium size, I cut a piece of pink vellum to go behind the mouse.

For the background, I stamped a piece of Stampin’ Up! Blushing Bride cardstock with the I Love Lace stamp and embossed again with Clear Glitter.  The tag was cut using Stampin’ Up! Tags and Labels framelits.

The birthday sentiment was stamped in Blushing Bride ink on Blushing Bride cardstock for a very subtle look.  The sentiment is from the Penny Black Sweet Wishes stamp set.

I carried the same colors to the inside of the card and stamped the interior sentiment using the Inkadinkado Thoughts for the Day stamp set, along with some flowers for the corners!

The entire card was then spritzed with a shimmer spray to make it nice and sparkly all over!

Watercolor Butterfly Basics ~ Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek

Watercolor Butterfly Basics 7

Hi Stampers!  I want to share another Sneak Peek with you today!  This card uses several fabulous products from the new 2015 Occasions Catalog!

I started with dry embossing a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of watercolor paper with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder.  This is one of two new and very cute embossing folders in the new catalog!

Spring Flowers Embossing Folder

I used watercolor paper so that I could color in the depressed part of the paper and add some POP.  The flowers are painted with Pink Pirouette and the leaves with Pistachio Pudding to keep the colors of this card nice and subtle.

Watercolor Butterfly Basics 1

The sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set and is stamped in Wild Wasabi.  I then used my Big Shot and the Ovals Framelits to cut it out.  The Butterfly Basics stamp set also includes a small honeycomb pattern.  I inked up the stamp with Pink Pirouette then stamped off before adding a very subtle detail to the Happy Birthday tag.

Of course the butterflies are the focal point of this card!!  These were cut out using the AMAZING new Butterfly Framelits.  These framelits and the Butterfly Basics stamp set are part of a bundle in the new catalog, which we all love!!

The Framelits set comes with a large butterfly, medium butterfly, and a coordinating small butterfly made to cut the butterfly from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

Butterfly Thinlits

I used pink and green vellum to cut out 2 butterflies for the front of the card using the medium butterfly framelit.

Watercolor Butterfly Basics 6

The light colored vellum butterflies looks perfectly subtle to match the watercolor embossed background.  A few pearls and a white ribbon behind the sentiment add the perfect amount of accent for this beautiful card.

Watercolor Butterfly Basics 9

I used a Pistachio Pudding Card base to tie everything together.  As always, I put a matte on the inside of the card (you can’t forget about that important final detail).

I used a cut out butterfly as a mask and sponged with Pink Pirouette to add a nice detail to the corner of the interior matte.
